The Aam Aadmi Party mock the BJP by distributing 'Bank of Jumla' cheques to women in Delhi, criticising BJP's unfulfilled promise to provide financial assistance of Rs. 2,500 to city women.

Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday distributed 'Bank of Jumla' cheque to women in the national capital mocking the Bhartiya Janata Party over not fulfiling its promise to give Rs 2,500 to women.

AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the national capital over its promise to give Rs 2,500 monthly financial assistance to women in the city.

The former Delhi minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to give Rs 2,500 to women in the city on March 8 but has not fulfiled it yet.

"The PM had promised that every woman in Delhi would get Rs. 2,500 on March 8. We have given the cheque of 'Bank of Jumla' written Rs. 2,500 on it. Maybe now, the BJP would be ashamed and will fulfil their promise...," Bharadwaj said.

Former Delhi CM and AAP leader Atishi also attacked the PM saying he promised the women of Delhi before the polls that Rs 2,500 would be credited to their bank accounts on March 8, but that has not happened yet so it was just a "jumla".

"It was a promise from Modi's Bank of jumla," she said. "March 8 came and went but even the registration for the scheme has not started yet," she added.
