Delhi Weather Forecast: Delhi recorded its hottest day yet this year on Tuesday, March 25. The maximum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 37.1 degrees Celsius, which was 5.6 degrees above normal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature was 1.1 degrees above normal.
The monitoring station at Ridge recorded a maximum temperature of 38.7 degrees Celsius, which was 4.9 degrees above normal. The IMD said that the humidity during the day ranged between 22% and 59%. The minimum temperature in Delhi on Tuesday was recorded at 16 degrees Celsius, which was 1.3 degrees below the seasonal average.
Mercury Likely To Continue Upward Movement
There is a possibility of a further increase in temperature during the day on Wednesday. The IMD has forecast clear skies on Wednesday, with the maximum temperature expected to rise to 39 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature is also likely to rise and hover around 18 degrees Celsius.
According to the IMD, strong winds will blow in Delhi during the daytime from March 27 to 29. This will directly affect the temperature. There are indications of a partial decrease in temperature on March 30 and 31.
However, the temperature in Delhi will rise again in the first week of April. At present, there is a possibility of some relief due to strong winds. Despite this, the temperature will remain between 35 and 36 degrees Celsius.
AQI Deteriorates Again
Meanwhile, Delhi's air quality has dropped again after a brief period of improvement. On Wednesday morning, the AQI was recorded in the 'poor' category. According to the Early Warning System, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was 236 at 5.30 AM.
An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'poor', 301 to 400 'very poor' and 401 to 500 'severe'.
