Sushant Singh Rajput Case: CBI’s Closure Report Says Actor Died By Suicide

CBI investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput's death concludes it as a suicide.

In the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput at his residence in Mumbai, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted a closure report to the court, confirming that the cause of death was suicide. Singh was found dead in his home in Bandra on June 14, 2020. Initially, the case appeared to be a suicide, but later the investigation was handed over to the CBI.

Singh's body was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan, but no suicide note was recovered from the scene. Later, the family of Sushant lodged an FIR in Patna against Rhea Chakraborty and others, alleging abetment to suicide, theft, among others.

A CBI probe was approved by the central government following the recommendation of the Bihar government. On August 19, 2020, the Supreme Court directed the CBI to take over the probe and granted the central agency full authority to conduct the inquiry.
