AIMIM's Delhi president, Shoaib Jamai, warned the government of a nationwide movement against Waqf (Amendment) Bill.
The All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) on Wednesday issued a warning to the Centre ahead of the presentation of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha today.
AIMIM's Delhi president, Shoaib Jamai, warned the government of a nationwide movement if an attempt is made to "forcibly impose" the Waqf Bill on Muslims.
In a post on X, Jamai said: "If an attempt is made to forcibly impose the Waqf Bill on Muslims, there will be a nationwide movement and it will start from Delhi. The movement will start from where it ended last time."
"We will use our democratic rights and will not tolerate any attack on the rights given to minorities in the Constitution," he added.

The AIMIM leader's remarks come as the opposition's INDIA Bloc have put up a united front against the Waqf Bill, with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge dubbing it "divisive agenda" of the government.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav slammed the bill as he arrived at the Parliament premises for the discussion session. "Our party will oppose this bill. What could be a greater injustice than not giving importance to the voices of those for whom this bill is being introduced?" he asked.
