Samajwadi Party MP Ramjilal Suman's convoy was attacked in Aligarh by Karni Sena and Kshatriya Mahasabha members.

Amid the ongoing controversy over Rana Sanga, Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Ramjilal Suman's convoy was attacked in Aligarh. Workers from the Karni Sena and Kshatriya Mahasabha reportedly threw tyres at the vehicles in Suman’s convoy near the Gabhana Toll Plaza in Aligarh.

A large number of Karni Sena members had gathered at the location, and the tyres thrown caused the vehicles in the convoy to collide with each other.

Speaking about the incident, Suman said, "This is a toll, and the police administration stopped us. This is a very serious matter. There have been six incidents of Dalit oppression in Bulandshahr. Dalit girls are being raped, their weddings are being stopped, and statues of Baba Saheb Ambedkar are being destroyed."

The Aligarh police, following the attack, escorted Suman back to Agra, where they left him at the Hathras border.

This incident happened after the Samajwadi Party MP made a controversial statement in the Rajya Sabha regarding Rana Sanga, leading to protests by the Karni Sena and other organisations. The Karni Sena had also vandalised Suman's residence in Agra earlier.

Ramjilal Suman expressed concerns for the safety of himself and his family after the attack. He wrote letters to the High Court and the Deputy Speaker of the Rajya Sabha, citing threats to his life. Following his complaints, heavy police forces were deployed at his residence for security.

This attack has escalated tensions in the region, with the political and social organisations reacting strongly to Suman's statements and the subsequent incidents.
